The crowd applauded the Ford brand’s recent announcement at NAIAS that it intends to bring back America’s built-tough beloved small truck. The news broke at the press conference held in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS), and Roesch Ford in Bensenville, IL, was glad to hear it. The new vehicle is expected in 2019.
If you’ve never owned a Ranger truck, talk to a few people who have and you’ll soon understand the excitement about the proposed comeback. Or look it up online; there are plenty of stories and comments to be found about America’s love for Ranger trucks. For instance, you can check out the comments following an editorial from “The Truth about Cars” blog, where Steven Lang explored the subject. One person commented, “It’s the most reliable thing I’ve ever owned.” Another exclaimed, “My Ranger survived my 20’s, what more can I say?”
Some people who had moved on to bigger vehicles because their families grew said they still feel affection whenever Ford Ranger trucks are mentioned. They freely shared that their hearts still swell whenever they see one on the road. Nathaniel commented that he has owned two of these tough compact trucks. The first one, he said, put on 360k and the second, 280k. He then wistfully commented, “I fully believe they are out there still running today.”
Another reader commented, “I still have a fond place in my heart for the ’96 Ranger I owned…it was simple and honest, durable as an anvil, and looked tough. Ford gave their 2wd trucks the same aggressive tires and ground clearance closer to their 4×4 trucks.” Check it out for yourself; the rave reviews go on and on!
